How long does it take to have a web site designed?
The time frame is determined by the size of your web site, the complexity of your site design, and our current client design schedule.
What is a URL?
It stands for "universal resource locator". This is the address typed in to view your web page on the Internet. For example, you would type in http://www.cheapwebsitesaustralia.com to access our home page.
Can I choose you to design my site and use my own web hosting?
Yes, you can use any web host you like. Once your website has been completed you will have to provide us with your web hosting ftp login username as password so that we can upload your website for you.
Why can't I find my web site in the search engines?
Once your site has been submitted to the top Search Engines they may require several weeks, or even months to actually spider and list your web site in their directory. How fast your site is listed depends on each individual Search Engines database update schedule. Watch your server traffic logs for visiting spiders.
Will we need to have a meeting in connection with the website design?
In the majority of cases a meeting isn't necessary and most of our websites are generally completed with contact via email and telephone only. We place suggested website designs onto the Internet in a private place where only yourselves and us can view the content. We then liaise with you regularly to discuss the web designs in order that the website design and functionality is exactly as you wish.
In what format should I supply words and photographs about my business for my new website?
It is helpful to us if you are able to provide text and photographs in electronic form - for example, the files output by a digital camera and the words in MS word or similar format. If this is not possible, we can help get your information ready for use on the website.
Do you create databases for websites?
No. To keep our costs to a minimum there are some aspects of web design we do not offer.
How do I update my website?
Cheap Websites Australia will update any infrequent changes to your website at no charge. If you require any layout changes this will be charged at $10 per page.
All websites hosted by Cheap Websites Australia can only be updated by ftp transfer.
Do you use Flash animation in your website design?
No. To keep our costs to a minimum there are some aspects of web design we do not offer.
Can I get e-mail with my website?
Yes you can have email and you will probably wish you set-up several email addressed e.g. sale@your-domain.com, info@your-domain.com, john.smith@your-domain.com
Can I have an e-commerce system for my website?
Yes you can. We can incorporate a PayPal Shopping Cart System for your product or service. We only use PayPal as this is a low cost service that offers Payment Security and adds no addtional charge to your web design.
Who owns the website once the website design is completed?
Once Payment has been finalized the website belongs to you - we send you a copy of the website on cd. This copy is for your retention and should you wish to use another web design or web hosting company - you are completely at liberty to take this copy to them for them to use.
Do you have any Setup Fees?
No we have No Setup Fees at all.
Do you require a Deposit?
Yes, once you have chosen a Website Design from the three samples we send you, we will then send you an invoice for a NON-refundable deposit, $20 for a single web page or $50 for a Five Page Website. Then we will send you a second invoice for the balance on design completion. Once the balance is received we will then upload your site to your domain.
